Building codes, green energy solutions and best practices are always evolving and Sawteeth Carpentry is committed to constant education to provide out clients with the best possible outcomes for their projects. Our team attends building conferences each year, trade shows, and other learning opportunities to stay current on best practices within our industry. What was “best practices” ten years ago is no longer the case, and it is our commitment to make education a priority.
Journal of LIght Construction Conference
JLC Live Conference - Providence, RI
Sawteeth Carpentry has attended JLC Live for several years, which is one of New England's best builder conferences. With three days of live trainings and classes, there is unlimited learning potential. Our team members can choose classes that include green building, woodworking techniques, interior and exterior building clinics, and business classes.
The exhibit hall features manufacturers that we are all familiar with, as well as up-and-coming products and businesses.
Our last conference trip also included a visit to the Rhode Island School of Design Art Museum!
International Builders Show
With over a 100 training sessions and 1300 exhibitors, the International Builders Show is truly at the forefront of building and remodeling conferences. Given our remote location in upstate NY, we have limited access to materials and suppliers; however, attending shows like this one keeps us up to date within the industry.
The speakers and sessions are led by industry leaders, and we strive to learn from the best.

Our team has attended trainings by SIGA, ROCKWOOL, SCHLUTER SYSTEMS, and more. With high-performance products and materials, the margin of error in installation and use is zero. The best products are only as good as the installation, and if used improperly, they can lead to far greater problems with your home. Being a member of the NAHB allows Sawteeth Carpentry to improve our skills with trainings and courses while also networking with like-minded businesses. It is easy to pick up a hammer and call yourself a builder. We take pride in being more than that within our business.
